On application, a student may be permitted to enrol after the advertised deadline subject to the payment of a late enrolment fee. The fee will be applied to the student record and will appear on the next RMIT invoice for any student who successfully applies for reinstatement and late enrolment.
Where exceptional circumstances can be demonstrated a student may lodge a written appeal to the Manager, Enrolments and Records, seeking reversal of the late enrolment fee.
Appeals may be submitted via email from the student’s RMIT email account to late.enrolment@rmit.edu.au, by fax to 03 9925 8820, or by post, addressed to:

Appeals should include the following:
Permission will only be granted if the University deems that the student’s circumstances were serious, beyond their control and directly affected their ability to enrol at the scheduled time.
Appeals against the late enrolment fee will not be considered outside the relevant academic year.
Appeals will not generally be considered if submitted by anyone other than the student. Staff may support an appeal by supplying the student with relevant evidence, documentation or letter of support.
Appeals will generally be finalised within ten business days and students will be advised in writing of the outcome.
