New College of Business Guidelines

On February 16 2011 the College of Business endorsed the College of Business Guidelines for Course Guides, Course Delivery, Assessment and Penalties. These guidelines respond to the University’s assessment principles and are to be adopted for the 2012 academic year. The document contains a list of resources to support the implementation of the guidelines.

Tips for eSubmission of assignments

ITS has provided six recommendations to ensure trouble free eSubmission of assignments in times of heaviest load. View the quick tips (PDF 110k) to ensure the effective submission of student assignments.

About Academic Development Group

The Academic Development Group (ADG) advises and provides support to the Business College on all aspects of learning and teaching. We provide informal advice and facilitate information/training sessions in a wide range of areas:

  • Improving learning and teaching outcomes:

Learning and teaching

We provide one-on-one support and facilitated group information sessions for new teaching staff, and experienced academics looking at adopting new practices. Examples of topics covered include:

  • Understanding and improving CES/CEQ results
  • Teaching large classes
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Improving teaching practice

PD Seminars

The purpose of this program, facilitated by ADG staff, is to enhance your teaching with practical tips and assistance from colleagues working within the different schools on a range of topics. These seminars aim to be interactive and practical. They are also an opportunity for you to meet requirements on PD attendance in your workplans. Lunch is provided.

Multimedia production

We provide assistance in media production and technical services that include:

  • Interactive learning objects using animation
  • Video and audio production for DVD and the web
  • Production of collaborative learning materials
