New Collectables crowd.
Art collectors bought more than $13,000 of work by RMIT University Fine Art and Design students at the New Collectables auction.
A crowd filled First Site Gallery for the New Collectables auction, all hoping to purchase new artworks by talented RMIT students.
The guest auctioneer on the night was Andrew Gaynor, an art specialist and curator.
Mr Gaynor kept the crowd entertained with the energy and humour he brought to proceedings, and inspired many fierce bidding wars between determined collectors.
The auction featured an extraordinary array of works by students in fields as diverse as ceramics, printmaking, textiles, and gold and silversmithing.
With works selling from $20 to $500, many lucky art buyers bought in at the start of some brilliant careers.
