You will then need to come into the Disability Liaison Unit for an appointment.

Hint: it is a good idea to contact us as soon as you have enrolled, as some of the assistance we can give you needs early planning.

What to bring when you first meet with us

Information for returning students

If you are a returning student you will need to re-register at the beginning of each academic year if you want reasonable adjustments to be put in place.

Please note: there might some circumstances when you might need to change your reasonable adjustments from what they were the year before, such as:

  • if you have changed programs, or if there is something new happening in your program
  • if the impact of your disability or health condition has changed.

Confidentiality

When you register with the Disability Liaison Unit, you will be asked to complete a confidentiality form, which allows us to share relevant information about you with other parts of RMIT and other relevant parties.

  • any information you provide us will only be shared when relevant and in the strictest confidence
  • RMIT and the Disability Liaison Unit are subject to the Information Privacy Act 2000 and, in the case of health information, to the Health Records Act 2001.
